Terms of Updating Order Details
When the details of an approved order are changed, Riskified needs to know.
Why does Riskified need to know about changes in approved orders?
We need to review the order again taking into account the new data so that the Chargeback Guarantee stays valid on the order.
What counts as a change in order details? A change in:
- Address
- Phone number
- Order amount
- Payment details
How often can I update an order?
You can only use the “Update Order Details” feature inside the Control Center once per order. However, if your integration sends us automated updates, then you can update an order as many times as needed.
How does updating an order affect billing?
Every time that you change critical order data, Riskified must review the order again. This means that the previous approval fee for reviewing the order the first time will be refunded but a cancellation fee will also incur to take into account the enrichment/decisioning Riskified had to process on the order. We will review the order again and charge a new approval fee.
Update Order Detail Instructions
Our merchants typically automate the process of “updating order details” through their integration. If you want to learn more about how to set this up, please talk to your Account Manager or Customer Support.
However, there may be some cases where you want to manually update details on an order. Therefore, here are the steps:
- Log into the Control Center.
- Find the relevant order you want to submit using the All Orders table or Search box.
- Once you are on the order's page, click More Actions > Update Order Details (3 vertical dots icon).
- Fill out the new information, and click Submit. The order will be reviewed again within seconds, and you will see the updated decision on the status display on the order’s page and activity log.
Note: The new information such as the updated shipping address that you entered will not appear on the order details inside the order’s page. However, we will have the updated information stored on our backend. If you are ever unsure if it updated properly, you can feel free to reach out to Customer Support, and we are happy to confirm.
